Episode 039: Magic 101 – 1 of 2

This is Critical Glitch, a Shadowrun Podcast Episode 039

Your host, The Most Dangerous Man in Gaming – Tim Patrick

Co-Host: Bob “Dr. Meatgrinder” Loper

Co-Host, Mike “Cadre Elite” Messmer

Magic in the Shadowrun world is vast and can be complicated as such we had to split this episode into two parts. We start by covering the types of awakened characters you can portray such as the Hermetic Mage, the Shaman, the Adept, the Aspected Mage (and why you should not), and finally the cracked out Mystic Adept. We talk a bit about the different paths available to Shamans, and why everyone can use a Mentor Spirit. We cover casting spells, countering spells, how to resist them, and how to calculate your drain. We also spend a bit of time talking about the Spirits and the difference between a bound and unbound spirit and what they can do for you.

We hope this episode answers some questions for you and we are certain it will bring new questions. As such never hesitate to contact us with your questions or comments:
